Set in Berlin as the Nazis rise to power, CABARET performed by Northlink College tells the story of the seedy Kit Kat Klub; a young American writer Cliff Bradshaw and his relationship with the British cabaret performer Sally Bowles. Narrating and guiding audiences through all the tawdry lust and lives of the people at the Kit Kat Klub is the Master of Ceremonies.

CABARET is widely considered one of the greatest musicals of all time, with it’s topical story set at the onset of World War 11.

The Tony Award-winning score is by John Kander and Fred Ebb with songs such as “Willkommen” and “Cabaret”.

Ndumiso Lindi - Keeping up with the Xhosaz

Ndumiso Lindi the Roosta is taking his show to the road and bringing along the best home-grown talent.
"South Africa is a country where diversity is celebrated in all its forms. Audiences now want to hear their stories delivered in their own languages, and the comedians we have chosen are a true reflection of where we all come from,” shares Ndumiso.

“It’s always been my dream to do a show like this, a show people look forward to because it speaks to them. We have come from far to make a living in these big cities. It’s not an easy process, so now and then, we should meet up and have a good laugh.”

The show will be performed in a mix of mostly Xhosa and some English.

Tankiso Mamabolo brings a 5 piece band to the Baxter for the official launch of her Sophomore album Thapo.

Written in 3 languages, the performance is a sonic exploration of
mourning as an act of life affirmation. She asks: "what happens when black women become ungovernable and relentless in our pursuit of joy through finding our own way through grief?"

The performance promises a range of genres from Rock and indie to reggae and gospel with themes that touch on love, rebellion and loss.

A FAINT PATCH OF LIGHT, nominated for 2 Fleur du Caps (Best Emerging Director and Best Performer) and winner of a Standard Bank Ovation Award, is a queering of Athol Fugard’s ‘Statements After an Arrest under the Immorality Act’ to make visible black lesbian struggles in South African townships.

This story follows two women’s negotiations with violence, love, desire and infidelity whilst living on the margins.

The production contains full nudity and is not suitable for viewers under 16.
